Jolly Phonic workshop
An informative Jolly Phonic session was conducted at National Public School West by a well known phonic trainer Ms. Thankam Kuttikat from 29th to 31st May… Ms Thankam commenced the workshop by introducing five basic skills of phonics.
Highlights of the workshop:
- Learning the letter sounds
- Learning the formation of letters
- Blending
- Identifying sounds in words
- Tricky words
Ms. Thankam briefed abt phonic rule and how to use them effectively in reading and writing skills. She further explained wide range of brain storming and funfilled activities like anagram,word building,charades,mnemonics which teacher’s can implement in the classroom for activity based learning.
Ms .Thankam gave inputs on teaching techniques and how to narrate a story effectively with intonation making it an effective tool for child’s learning. It was indeed an informative session overall.
