Fire Evacuation Mock Drill 2024 – 25
A fire evacuation mock drill simulates a fire emergency to test and improve evacuation procedures, ensuring all personnel are prepared for a real fire incident. Mock drills help people practice fire safety procedures and learn how to respond quickly and efficiently in an emergency. Mock drills increase overall preparedness for real fire incidents, potentially saving lives and minimizing the damage. The ideal evacuation time for a fire drill depends on the building’s size and layout, with small buildings typically needing 2-3 minutes and larger buildings potentially requiring 5-10 minutes or more.
A well-defined evacuation plan was made which is crucial in outlining routes, assembly points and procedures. Clear and effective communication ensured that everyone is aware of the alarm and knows what to do. The evacuation routes were accessible to all, including those with disabilities.
Thus, the Fire Evacuation Mock Drill was conducted at NPS WEST on 4th of April, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. The students, teaching and non-teaching staff with the support staff evacuated the building after a long siren not taking more than 2 min. Everyone walked in lines as planned, assembled in the turf area as expected and attendance was taken to check if all the students arrived. The students moved very quietly by following all the instructions laid to the. It was indeed a great SUCCESS!!
